Initially, FCS removed the top 450mm of the bridge deck, in preparation for the new surface to be laid. Once this once completed, we mass poured over 100m3 of reinforced concrete to a power floated finish. This was finished with polysulphide jointing sealant which acted as a bridge between the 3 completed sections.
Once this was completed, we then built of the adjacent parapets to a nominal height along the length of the bridge deck. This was then completed with GRP coping stones along the length of the deck. As a result of Force’s dedication to safety and attention to detail throughout the course of this project, JMS awarded us the Pride in Safety and Welfare Standards.
