Force is proud to have supported the construction of the UK’s largest battery storage facility, a project recently connected to the National Grid and set to play a key role in the country’s transition to clean energy.
As part of the delivery team, our works included:
- Installation of approx. 130 reinforced concrete foundations for bolt-down palisade fencing
- Supply and fit of around 350m of palisade fencing with HILTI resin and anchors
- Installation of pedestrian access gates and a 5m double-leaf gate
- Grout checks on all posts to ensure precision and safety
The project wasn’t without challenges. Design changes, overlapping contractor works, and even the discovery of an unexploded bomb demanded flexibility and coordination. Our team adapted quickly, maintaining progress despite restricted access and ongoing electrical and piling works.
This milestone project shows how Force continues to deliver specialist civils and fencing solutions on some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile sites.
About the facility
This facility has the capacity to store enough energy to power up to 680,000 homes, helping balance supply and demand across the grid. More than just an engineering achievement, it’s a step toward powering a more sustainable future for both the region and the country.
